Terms of service

These terms govern your use of CaptionStudio. If you do not agree, do not create an account or upload a video.

1. The service

CaptionStudio lets you transcribe speech, edit captions, apply styles, and export video or subtitle files. Features depend on the plan you are on. The Pricing page lists current limits.

The product is still growing. Some sync and export paths are completed on this device first. We will not silently take away a paid capability you already bought for the current period without a path to finish the work or a refund under the Refund policy.

2. Accounts

You must give a real email you control and confirm it. You are responsible for the password and for activity on the account.

One person, one account, unless we agree in writing. We may disable an account that is abusive, unpaid after a valid charge, or clearly created to evade a ban.

3. Plans and usage

Free, Creator, and Pro Max have different daily video limits, per-video length caps, export rules, and watermarks. Those numbers live on the Pricing page and in the studio.

Free includes 1 successful video per UTC day, up to 1 minute, with a watermark on export. Paid plans allow longer videos and clean exports. Unused daily quota does not roll over.

4. Your content

You keep the rights to videos and captions you create. You grant us a limited licence to process that material only to provide the service — transcribe, render, store temporarily, and show it back to you.

You must have the right to upload every file. Do not upload material you do not own or are not allowed to process. You are responsible for what you publish after export.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use CaptionStudio to break the law, to harass people, to infringe copyright, or to generate sexual content involving minors. Do not probe, scrape, or overload the APIs. Do not resell access without a written deal.

We may suspend or delete an account that violates this section. If we can, we will say why.

6. Accuracy

We work hard on Hinglish, Hindi, and English timing. Speech engines still miss names, noise, and overlapping talk. Always read the transcript before you post. We do not guarantee a perfect caption.

7. Our rights

The CaptionStudio name, studio interface, preset styles, and code are ours or our licensors’. You may not copy the product, clone the styles as a competing library, or remove a paid watermark by hacking the export.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the studio up. We do not promise zero downtime. Planned work and outages will be handled in good faith. If a paid period is unusable for a long stretch, the Refund policy applies.

9. Liability

The service is provided as-is. To the fullest extent Indian law allows, we are not liable for lost posts, lost revenue, or indirect damage from a bad caption or a failed export.

If a court finds we are liable anyway, our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid us for CaptionStudio in the three months before the claim, or ₹2,000, whichever is greater.

10. Ending the agreement

You can stop using the product at any time. We can end access if you break these terms or if we shut the service down. On shutdown of a paid plan we will follow the Refund policy for unused prepaid time where we can.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction, unless a consumer-protection rule in your state says otherwise.
